PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an infallible turning-up of the cover of a bankbook irrespective of its stiffness and quality of material. SOLUTION: The tip part in a carrying direction of the cover Ta of each of bankbooks T carried by carrying roller pairs 81a-81d is abutted against a turning roller 82. After the abutting, through the simultaneous rotation and shifting of the turning roller 82, the tip part side of the cover Ta is lifted and pulled up on the turning roller 82. By carrying the bankbooks T after the pulling-up, a force opposite to the carrying direction is given by the turning roller 82 to the cover Ta, resulting in turning-over the cover Ta about a joint part Tt.
