In one embodiment the present invention includes a landing gear for an airplane comprising a plurality of connectors (102, 103,104,106,107) coupled to the airplane; a first support member (110) coupled to at least one of the plurality of connectors; a second support member(112) pivotally coupled to the first support member (110); a third support member (114) pivotally coupled to the second support member(112); a wheel (116) coupled to the third support member; a bell crank(124) coupled to the third support member; and a link system (128,130,132) coupled to the bell crank; wherein the third support member (114) folds back upon the second support member (110) and moves aft upon retraction of the landing gear into the airplane. |
