The saddle has a saddle tree mold (1), and a back rest formed from foam material fixed on the top side of the mold. The mold is made from a light weight material e.g. carbon fiber, and has minimum thickness in certain areas. Abdominal belt straps (16) are connected on either side of the sheets of the tree mold.
