<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing carbon dioxide into carbon practically/economically by using ferrous oxide which has been activated by a simple process without conducting a heat treatment. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for reducing carbon dioxide to carbon by bringing carbon dioxide into contact with ferrous oxide, ferrous oxide activated by mechanical milling is used; the mechanical milling is conducted at normal temperature in an atmosphere substantially not containing oxygen, preferably in an argon atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
