<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems, in an information recording method using an information recording medium adopting a modulation code having the shortest mark, that a reduction of heat interference is required when a shorter mark is recorded, and that a strategy capable of recording information on a medium corresponding to a high linear velocity is required. <P>SOLUTION: A recording waveform is made into the multi-pulse state, an coding column is classified to an odd-numbered column and an even-numbered column, and the shortest mark is recorded for every coding column by using a single pulse.
