METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING WASTE PLASTIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the treatment cost due to the material recycling of a waste plastic and the chemical recycling of a fractionated residual component.

SOLUTION: This waste plastic treatment method includes a process for extracting a part of a hydrocarbon polymer from the waste plastic, a desalting/liquefying process for immersing the waste plastic in an organic medium not only to perform desalting and the liquefaction of an ester polymer and the hydrocarbon polymer but also to float desalting residue and the non-liquefied waste plastic in the organic medium as the desalted waste plastic containing the residual component of the liquefied hydrocarbon polymer and sedimenting the liquefied ester polymer, a process for taking the desalted waste plastic out of an oil bath tank 12 to pyrolyze the same to form the oil vapor of the desalted waste plastic and the volatile component of the organic medium and a process for lowering the temperature of the oil vapor and that of the organic medium to separate the liquid organic medium and the oil vapor. A combustible gas can be also obtained by gasifying the liquid oil obtained by cooling the oil vapor or the liquefied oil of the ester polymer.
