PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gap winding motor which can make the most of a coil air core part which utilizes most effectively magnetic flux which a permanent magnet generates in a stator coil and which can utilize a magnetic flux also by a coil end part. SOLUTION: The gap winding motor includes a stator 30 in which a plurality of air core shapes for forming a rotary magnetic field are mounted on the inner peripheral surface of the stator core 31, a plurality of permanent magnets 45 mounted on the outer peripheral surface, and a rotor 40 arranged oppositely to the stator coil 33 via an air gap. An axial direction length (b) of the stator coil 33 is longer than an air core part axial length (a) of the stator coil 33, and the permanent magnet 45 is extended to the region of a coil end part (c) of both axial ends of the stator coil 33.
