PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light quantity detector for a liquid crystal display device, in which the photosensor gets sufficient light quantity. SOLUTION: The light quantity detector detects light emitted from a backlight of the liquid crystal display device, and is equipped with the photosensor to detect light leaking from an exposing surface disposed on a part of a side face of a light guide plate, and a slope to reflect the light leaking from the exposing surface in a rear face direction of the liquid crystal display device.
