PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a room lamp control device for a vehicle capable of preventing an illuminating means from lighting up even in the case a non-operating condition of the vehicle is sensed. SOLUTION: When both a key insertion sensing switch 1 (push switch 2 in the case of an intelligent key system vehicle) and a buckle switch 3 are turned off, a room lamp 10 is controlled to the lights-out condition. Also when the key insertion sensing switch 1 is turned off and the buckle switch 3 is turned on, the room lamp 10 is controlled to the lights-out condition. When the key insertion sensing switch 1 is turned off and the buckle switch 3 is turned from on to off, the room lamp 10 is lighted up and a timer built in a CPU 8 starts counting, and when the specified time has elapsed, the room lamp 10 is lighted out automatically.
