PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relax accuracy in movement, when using a miniaturized area sensor to shift pixels. SOLUTION: An imaging part 20 of an image reading apparatus 11, constituting a digital laboratory system 10, is composed of an image forming lens unit 23, a lens barrel 24, a support plate 25, a CCD area sensor 26 and the like. The image forming lens unit 23 is held by the lens barrel 24 which is freely movable in the direction of an optical axis 21. The lens barrel 24 is mounted on the lower surface side of the support plate 25, and the CCD area sensor 26 is mounted on the upper surface side of the support plate 25. The support plate 25 includes piezoelectric elements 35a, 25b (not illustrated) for moving the imaging part 20 in a direction at 45°to the film length direction and breadth direction. Since the image forming lens unit 23 and the CCD area sensor 26 can be moved integrally, moving accuracy can be relaxed, when pixels are shifted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
