PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loop yarn having all of bulkiness, repulsion and soft feeling, further having stretchability and dimensional stability, and passing through processes well; and to provide a method for producing the loop yarn. SOLUTION: The loop yarn comprises a core yarn (1) and a sheath yarn (2). The core yarn (1) comprises a polyester-based conjugate fiber obtained by conjugating a layer consisting essentially of a polyethylene terephthalate and a layer consisting essentially of a polytrimethylene terephthalate to form a side-by-side shape or an eccentric sheath-core shape, and the sheath yarn (2) comprises a polyethylene terephthalate-based fiber.
