PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an annular packing material from being contracted even if time elapses just after the start of rice boiling, to prevent the dew reserved in a steam cylinder from leaking to the outside when an outer lid is opened, and to prevent leakage of steam or viscous liquid from the steam cylinder while rice is being boiled continuously in a rice cooker with the steam cylinder mounted on the outer lid for opening/closing an opening of a rice cooker body. SOLUTION: A pot 3 heated by a heating means 4 is detachably stored inside the rice cooker body 1. The opening of the rice cooker body 1 is opened/closed by the outer lid 2, on which the steam cylinder 10 is detachably mounted. The steam cylinder 10 consists of an upper casing 12 and a lower casing 13 rotatably engaged with the upper casing 12 and sealed with the annular packing material 25. The cross section of the annular packing material 25 is hollow, and a plurality of discontinuous beads are disposed from one side to the opposite side on the inner surface of the annular packing material 25.
