<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve affinity between an application and a device driver, and to make the application and device driver transfer information through a unique region in which information unique to the device driver is stored. <P>SOLUTION: A device driver is provided with an acquisition means for acquiring the management information of an extended region by using the interface of an operating system, a recognizing means for recognizing setting information unique to the device driver stored in the extended region by using the management information acquired by the acquisition means and a notification control means for controlling processing to notify setting information unique to the device driver recognized by the recognizing means to the application. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
