APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SUB-CARRIER ALLOCATION IN ORTHOGONAL FREQUENCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for effectively allocating sub-carriers for a plurality of users and transmitting the allocated sub-carriers through multiple antennas in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access mobile communication system using the multiple antennas.

SOLUTION: The method for allocating a plurality of sub-carriers to one or more users to and mapping the allocated sub-carriers to one of a plurality of the antennas includes steps of: receiving the channel information of sub-carriers from a plurality of user terminal equipments to the plurality of antennas; determining the number of sub-carriers allocated to the plurality of user equipments in accordance with the received channel information; and determining locations and transmitter antennas for sub-carriers with respect to the sub-carriers of the number allocated to the user equipments.
