<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effective use of energy in a complex, capable of improving thermal efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In this method for effective use of energy, turbines 2, 3, 4 are driven by using steam (surplus thermal energy) S generated from an ethylene cracking furnace (production facility) 1, and mechanical energy obtained from the turbines 2, 3, 4 are used for driving compressors (peripheral facilities) 5, 6, 7 arranged on the periphery of the ethylene cracking furnace 1. The steam S is supplied to a thermal energy use facility 11 of which thermal source is C heavy oil (fuel), and the compressors 5, 6, 7 are driven by electric motors 16, 17, 18 instead of the turbines 2, 3, 4. Electric power to be supplied to the electric motors 16, 17, 18 are obtained from power generation facilities 19, 24 generating electric power by using the C heavy oil (fuel) as the heat source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
