PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which enables attachment/detachment operations to be smoothly performed, without the need for forming a tip of an ink extracting pipe in a sharpened shape, and without staining the inside of a recording apparatus. SOLUTION: When the ink cartridge 1 is mounted in the inkjet recording apparatus 2, an end surface, where an outlet 29 of a valve body 22 for extracting ink is formed, butts against an opening end surface of the ink extracting pipe 12, and the valve body 22 is slid until the outlet 28 is positioned in an ink chamber 16. This makes the ink chamber 16 and the pipe 12 communicate with each other via an ink channel 27 which is formed inside the valve body 22. Consequently, the ink chamber 16 and the pipe 12 can be made to communicate with each other, even if the tip part of the pipe 12 is flat. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
