摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module for transmitting radio frequency signal which can easily realize the transmission of radio frequency signal using a semiconductor optical device to which a highly flexible metal can package is adapted. SOLUTION: In the optical module 1 for transmitting radio frequency signal, an outer lead 18 is easily attached to a semiconductor optical device 2 by bending the outer lead 18 after the fixing part 19 of the linear outer lead 18 is fixed with the laser welding to the rear surface 3a of a stem 3 of the semiconductor optical device 2. Since the outer lead 18 extending along the lead pins is mounted on the rear surface 3a of the stem in both sides of the lead pins 13a, 13b as the signal transmitting pins of the semiconductor optical device 2 as explained above, ground region is continued in both sides of the lead pins 13a, 13b with the stem 3 and outer lead 18, thereby forming a TEM wave transmission line.
