PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus reducing a record data amount, when performing pre-alarm recording into a separate area from normal recording. SOLUTION: The image recording apparatus 1 includes: a data buffer 12 for buffering an image data; a storage medium 14 having a pre-alarm record area 143, a normal record area 142 and a management information record area 141; a pre-alarm record management information buffer 13 for buffering pre-alarm management information to manage a pre-alarm record image data being recorded in the storage medium 14; and a record control 11 for generating management information to manage the image data recorded in the storage medium 14 based on a record control data, and recording into both the pre-alarm record management information buffer 13 and the storage medium 14. In the pre-alarm recording, when record requests are issued in duplication, requesting to record an identical image data into the pre-alarm record area and the normal record area, the image recording apparatus 1 records the image data into the normal record area only.
