PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of signals when a communication condition is deteriorated in a radio communication system. SOLUTION: A master unit in the radio communication system executes a filter selecting process according to the communication conditions. This process comprises a step (S302) of detecting the field intensity of signals sent from a sub-master unit, a step (S303) of reading a threshold A from a memory, a step (S306) of setting on the filter if the field intensity is not greater than the threshold A (YES in S304), a step (S307) of reading a threshold B from the memory, and a step (S310) of setting off the filter if the field intensity is not less than the threshold B (YES in S308).
