An electronic circuit wire and a display device using the electronic circuit wire wherein the wire destruction caused by electrostatic discharge can be reduced, the yield can be enhanced and the reliability of a display panel can be improved. In order to protect an effective display area (12) from static electricity, an electronic circuit wire (13) is wired around the effective display area (12) in such a manner that a part of the electronic circuit wire (13) crosses other wires with an insulating film intervening therebetween in a crossover area (15). The electronic circuit wire (13) includes a starting end (A11); a terminating end (B11) disposed on the opposite side of the crossover area (15) to the starting end (A11); and a resistor element (R11) disposed on the same side of the crossover area (15) as the starting end (A11).
