An assembly removes and incinerates foul gas arising from e.g. a decomposing waste dump by passing through an active carbon filter (3, 4) followed by gas combustion in a motor. The assembly has a suction pump (6) that desorbs foul gas from one the filters (3) and a by-pass tube (9) with a valve (10). Part (11) of the foul gas (2) passes first through the filter (3, 4) before being reunited with the other unfiltered fraction (12) in a mixed flow (13). The silicon impurities content in the mixed flow (13) is reduced in proportion to the ratio of the partial flow (11) to the residual flow (12). The silicon gas quantity in the foul gas (2) is constantly monitored in all three gas pipes (11, 12, 13) by a measuring instrument (15). The ratio of foul gas to filtered gas is maintained at a pre-determined constant value. The ratio of partial flow (11) to residual flow (13) is maintained at between 0 and 1 and is infinitely variable.
|
