<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle which retains a spalling resistance and has a marked improvement in corrosion resistance of the slag line part, and to provide a method for manufacturing the nozzle. <P>SOLUTION: The immersion nozzle is an immersion nozzle for continuous casting and is composed at least of a nozzle body and a slag line part. The slag line part consists of a ZrO<SB>2</SB>-MgO-C refractory material having a chemical composition of 0.5-10 mass% MgO, 60-96.5 mass% ZrO<SB>2</SB>, 0-10 mass% total amount of CaO, Y<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and CeO<SB>2</SB>, and 3-30 mass% C. The ZrO<SB>2</SB>-MgO-C refractory material, which constitutes the slag line part of the immersion nozzle, is composed at least of an MgO-containing raw material, a ZrO<SB>2</SB>-containing raw material, and a C-containing raw material. An MgO-containing ZrO<SB>2</SB>raw material is used as a part or the whole of the above MgO-containing raw material and/or the ZrO<SB>2</SB>-containing raw material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
