<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the shortening of operating time from supplying power until attaining a post-processing feasible state and the reduction of operating power, and also to reduce operational sound produced in the operating time. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming system is equipped with an image forming apparatus 10 for forming an image and the image forming post-processing device 90 for performing post-processing for a printing sheet on which an image has been formed and which is transported from the apparatus 10. After supplying the power, the device 90 does not collectively perform total initial processing to a post-processing part 90a but individually performs initial processing in accordance with a function selectively inputted every time in the case either an end stapling function or a folding/center stapling function is selectively inputted. When a maintenance door is opened/closed or when mechanical coupling between the apparatus 10 and the device 90 is released, the total initial processing to the post-processing part 90a is not collectively performed but only the initial processing corresponding to the present post-processing function is performed only when a jamming state occurs in the midst of the post-processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
