<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve size reduction of an actuator that drives a lens, improves driving, and smoothes movement. <P>SOLUTION: This drive unit comprises a movable bed plate 23 having a piezoelectric property; drive electrodes 24a to 24d that are arranged so as to excite elastic surface waves in two directions which are orthogonal to the movable bed plate; and pressure contactors 25c to 25d that are friction-coupled to the movable bed plate 23. When the elastic surface waves are generated on the movable bed plate 23 by applying frequencies to the drive electrodes, the movable bed plate 23 is subjected to plane-movement in the two directions by the pressure contactors 25c to 25d. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
