<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrosurgical pencil and methods of its use, which can efficiently remove smoke produced and drifting up during a surgical operation and can efficiently deliver a fluid during the surgical operation. <P>SOLUTION: The electrosurgical pencil 100 comprises a housing 102; an electrode 106 supported within the housing, extending distally from the housing, and connected to a source of electrosurgical energy; an activation button 124 being configured and adapted to provide electrosurgical energy selectively to the electrode upon its actuation; and an aspirating/irrigating system 140 operatively connected to the housing, wherein the aspirating/irrigating system is configured and adapted to manually perform at least one of delivering a quantity of the fluid to a target surgical site and withdrawing a quantity of the fluid from the target surgical site. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
