PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal and a camera module in which a user can perform photographing operation while looking at an image displayed at an image display section by displaying an image of user oneself, an object or a person other than the user at the image display section, and in which a camera can be replaced easily. SOLUTION: The portable terminal 100 where two cases 102 and 104 are coupled, at one ends thereof, through a coupling part 105 to open/close freely comprises an image display section 106, a camera module 110 provided with an image pick-up window, connecting parts H1 and H2 provide at an end part on the side opposite to the coupling part 105 of one case 104 in order to connect the camera module 110 with one case 104 removably and replaceably upside down so that any one of the inner and outer sides is directed in the photographing direction when the two cases 102 and 104 are brought into closed state, and a control section 107 for transmitting/receiving a signal to/from the camera module 110.
