PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video voice recording and reproducing apparatus whereby a user can dub part of analog video audio information recorded on a video tape, sandwiched between VISS signals to a DVD with a simple operation. SOLUTION: When a tape recording reproducing section 11 receives a dubbing start command during reproduction, an index signal control section 14 gives a tape rewind command to the tape recording reproducing section 11 until the control section 14 detects an index, makes the tape recording reproducing section 11 start reproduction from a position of the tape at which the control section detects the index signal, makes a digital recording section 12 start recording synchronously with the reproduction, and when the index signal control section 14 detects a succeeding index signal, the index signal control section 14 makes the tape recording reproducing section 11 stop reproduction and allows the digital recording section 12 to stop the recording synchronously therewith.
