PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure device whose life is accurately judged, an image forming device provided with the exposure device, and a life judging device which accurately judges the life of the exposure device. SOLUTION: An LSU 200 related to this invention is provide with: a drive current detection means 203 for detecting drive current ILD of an LD 201; and a nonvolatile memory 204 for holding data regarding an initial drive current value Iinit and an initial temperature Tinit of LD201. The image forming device 100 in which the LSU 200 is installed judges that the LSU reaches the end of its life when a rate of current change of the drive current value I to the initial drive current value Iinit reaches a life judgement reference value.
