PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building external wall structure which allows firm mounting of a tiled external wall consisting of a substrate and a number of tiles arranged on and bonded to the same, on a building skeleton in a labor saving manner, to thereby eliminate waste of materials, and to provide a building external wall mounting method. SOLUTION: In construction of the building external wall structure, a plurality of furring strips 20 are arranged on the building structural skeleton 5 at predetermined vertical intervals, and an external wall member 12 is nailed to the furring strips 20. The furring strips 20 are arranged corresponding to nailing pitch rows A set at predetermined vertical intervals out of the nailing pitch rows A along which a number of nailing locations 15 that are preset for mounting the external wall member 12, are horizontally aligned.
