<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical active material of LiNiO<SB>2</SB>type which is obtained by substituting a part of nickel in a single-phase compound oxide of nickel and lithium. <P>SOLUTION: This active material is a single phase oxide expressed by a general formula of LiMO<SB>2</SB>type as follows: Li(M<SP>1</SP><SB>(1-a-b-c)</SB>Li<SB>a</SB>M<SP>2</SP><SB>b</SB>M<SP>3</SP><SB>c</SB>)O<SB>2</SB>. Here, 0.02<a≤0.25, 0≤b<0.30, 0≤c<0.30, (a+b+c)<0.50, M<SP>3</SP>is at least one element selected from Al, B, and Ga, M<SP>2</SP>is at least one element selected from Mg and Zn, M<SP>1</SP>=Ni<SB>(1-x-y-z)</SB>Co<SB>x</SB>Mn<SB>y</SB>M<SP>4</SP><SB>z</SB>, and in the above formula, M<SP>4</SP>is at least one element selected from Fe, Cu, Ti, Zr, V, Ga and Si, and is a single-phase oxide to satisfy 0≤x<0.70, 0.10≤y<0.55, 0≤z<0.30, 0.20<(1-x-y-z), and (b+c+z)>0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
