<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small wire stripper, capable of fixing a waterproof rubber to the forward end of a wire and capable of removing coating at the forward end of a wire through simple operations, regardless of the type of the wire. <P>SOLUTION: The wire stripper 1 comprises a mechanism 4 for holding an externally fed waterproof rubber 3 which is fixed to the forward end of a coated wire 2, a mechanism 5 for guiding the wire 2 to be inserted into the waterproof rubber 3 held by the waterproof rubber holding mechanism 4 and gripping the wire 2 inserted into the waterproof rubber 3, a cutting mechanism 6 for making a cut in the wire 2 held by the wire gripping means at a predetermined position, and a mechanism 7 for moving the cutting mechanism 6, in order to remove the coating of the wire 2. The cutting mechanism 6 is further provided with a plurality of cut edges 43, and a means for moving the cut edges 43 to a retreat position, a cutting position and a strip position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
