AGE ESTIMATION DEVICE, METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an age estimation device, an age estimation method, and an age estimation program capable of accurately estimating both of an actual age and an apparent age of a face image.

SOLUTION: In learning an actual age, one or more learning faces with known actual ages are inputted with the actual ages to a characteristic quantity extraction device 1. The characteristic quantity extraction device 1 extracts a plurality of characteristic quantities from the respective learning faces. An age recognition device 2 finds correlation between a plurality of characteristic quantities of the respective learning faces extracted by the characteristic quantity extraction device 1 and the actual ages of the respective learning faces according to multiple regression analysis. In learning the apparent age, one or more learning faces with known apparent ages are inputted with the apparent ages into the characteristic quantity extraction device 1. The characteristic quantity extraction device 1 extracts a plurality of characteristic quantities from the respective learning faces. The age recognition device 2 finds a correlation between a plurality of characteristic quantities of the respective learning faces extracted by the characteristic quantity extraction device 1 and the apparent ages of the respective learning faces according to multiple regression analysis.
