<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image type vehicle sensor capable of eliminating influence of a shadow in detection of a vehicle even when a vehicle body color is black or a similar color and has a luminance value equivalent to that of the shadow. <P>SOLUTION: This image type vehicle sensor is provided with an input means inputting an image of a passing vehicle, a composite image creation means creating a composite image based on a luminance relationship between a current image of the passing vehicle inputted by the input means and a previous image inputted one time before, a differential image creation means creating a differential image based on the luminance difference between the composite image and the current image or the previous image, a vehicle area detection means detecting the vehicle based on classification by color in the respective areas of the differential images divided into a plurality of areas, and an output means outputting the vehicle sensing result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
