PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent consumption of a battery during engine stop, in an electronic control unit for detecting and diagnosing a vehicle state after the engine stop. SOLUTION: In the electronic control unit, current application breaking circuits 34a, 34b are disposed to power supply lines of circuits A, B not used for the detection and diagnosis of the vehicle condition performed after the engine stop, so as to break application of current to the circuit A, B when an ignition key is turned off and the detection and diagnoses of the vehicle state are performed by using a CPU 32 and a circuit C.
