PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the designing method of a pattern having a mesh structure in which any moire fringe does not appear, by utilizing a computer. SOLUTION: Numerical values a, b are inputted from an inputting unit into an operation unit to form a virtual coordinates consisting of an x-coordinate axis and a y-coordinate. Then, a group of virtual rectangles consisting of virtual rectangles formed of straight lines parallel to the x-coordinate axis and straight lines parallel to the y-coordinate axis while whose lengths of respective sides are a, b, is formed on the virtual coordinates to move the virtual rectangles in parallel to the x-coordinate axis and/or y-coordinate axis employing random numbers read out of a memory unit, then, the lengths of respective sides of the virtual rectangles moved in parallel are changed employing the random numbers read out of the memory unit to form the group of substantial rectangles.
