PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air compressor not requiring a mechanical seal, with less load in maintenance work. SOLUTION: The air compressor 1 is equipped with an oil injection type screw compressor main body 11 having female and male screw rotors 33, 34 housed therein, and a motor 12 for driving the body 11 on the suction side. In the air compressor 1, a compressor casing part 13 and a motor casing part 14 are integrally formed, the lowest part of the screw rotors 33, 34 are positioned lower than the lowest part of a rotor 42 of the motor 12, and an overhung part from a rotor shaft 39 on the drive side is an output shaft 41 of the motor 12. This structure allows oil to be leaked out toward the outside further away form the male rotor 34 from a bearing 37 rotatably supporting the rotor shaft 39 penetrating a wall part on the motor 12 side of the compressor casing part 13. Opening parts 43, 44 are formed on the wall part for communicating the space inside the motor 12 and a suction port 21 inside the compressor casing part 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
