<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately start data writing on a recording medium such as a DVD+R disk having a DVD video format for rewritable disk, a DVD+RW disk or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The controller of an optical disk drive detects a disk when turning power ON or inserting an optical disk, interprets the rewritable disk DVD video format (S1), determines whether the optical disk is a rewritable disk DVD video format or not (S2), finishes the processing if the optical disk is not a rewritable disk DVD video format, analyzes a data rewriting position decided on the file system of the rewritable disk DVD video format if the optical disk is a rewritable disk DVD video format (S3), moves an optical pickup until the data rewriting position to stand by (S4), and finisihes the processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
