PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check resources of printing environment together and to collate the resources with the contents of a document in Preflight checking before printing. SOLUTION: Environment of a PC which performs the preflight checking is investigated (a step 7-2) and in the case of utilizing a font of a printer, the printer is investigated (a step 7-6). After that, the document is analyzed and resources to be used are investigated (a step 7-8). Then, the environment of the PC and environment of the printer are collated with the resources used for the document, when a font and a color profile which cannot be used exist (steps 7-11 to 7-14) and when resolution of an image included in the document is widely different from resolution of the printer (steps 7-15 to 7-16), warning display is outputted to an operator (a step 7-18) and the document is edited if necessary.
