PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulator for a heat exchanger using an algorithm allowing easy convergence of a solution in solution of a governing equation for all the CV and not requiring much simulation time. SOLUTION: Heat exchange characteristics of the respective CV and the whole heat exchanger are found by a repeat procedure 1 for solving only an energy conservation equation on all the CV in a predetermined sequence decided along a refrigerant flow path and repeating calculation until the respective solutions converge, a repeat procedure 2 for solving only the momentum conservation equation on all the CV in the predetermined sequence decided along the refrigerant flow path after the repeat procedure 1 and repeating calculation until the respective solutions converge, and a repeat procedure 3 for repeating the repeat procedure 1 and the repeat procedure 2 until heat exchange characteristics of the respective CV obtained from the solutions for the energy conservation equation on the respective CV found in the repeat procedure 1 and the solutions for the momentum conservation equation on the respective CV found in the repeat procedure 2 converge as to all of the CV.
