<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proximity switching device capable of operating a switch, even when detection parts for an switch operation provided with a pair of projectors and a pair of photoreceivers are installed proximately, and which is capable of supplying a control electric power source by two-wire system. <P>SOLUTION: This proximity switch device has the projectors 13a, 13b for transmitting a light signal, and the photoreceivers 14a, 14b for receiving light reflected from an object of the light signal transmitted from the projectors 13a, 13b. A control circuit 16 controls a main switch circuit to be opened and closed, in response to a detection signal detected first, when the detection signals are received within a fixed time, respectively from the plurality of photoreceivers 14a, 14b arranged with the plurality of pairs, to make the paired projectors 13a, 13b and the paired photoreceivers 14a, 14b arranged closely.
