<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ankle-damage preventive structure of an automobile brake pedal reducing impact applied to the driver's ankle at a time of a vehicle collision. <P>SOLUTION: The ankle-damage preventive structure of an automobile brake pedal is constituted of: a pedal hanger; a brake pedal with its upper end rotatably fitted to the pedal hanger; a release bracket fixed to a fixing bracket soldered to a cowl cross bar with a bolt and nut; a mounting bracket fixed to the upper part of the pedal hanger with its upper surface positioned between the fixing bracket and the release bracket; a triangle link of a right-angled triangle with its right-angled part rotatably connected to the push rod of a booster and the angle part of horizontal sides rotatably connected to the brake pedal; and a straight line link with its lower end rotatably connected to the angle part of the vertical sides of the triangle link and its upper end rotatably fixed to the pin fixing the upper end of the brake pedal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
