<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of measuring the characteristic of elevator weighing devices easily without requiring a weight. <P>SOLUTION: This system includes a load cell 21 with its one end attached to a cage 7 of an elevator car and the other end attached to a pitch 22 of the elevator for measuring tension for fixing and immobilizing the cage. With monitoring of the output of the load cell, a hoisting motor 3 is driven to lift the outside car frame 6 of the cage upward, thereby imposing a load equivalent to a load inside the cage on weighing devices 8a, 8b provided between the car frame 6 and the cage 7 to measure the load inside the cage.
