<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally control the light emission of a stroboscope whatever position in an image plane a main subject exists in. <P>SOLUTION: The stroboscope control system which makes the stroboscopic device perform preliminary light emission before light emission for normal photography has photometry means (106 and 100) acquiring a photometric value for every several photometric areas, a distance detection means (18) detecting a distance to the subject, a proper level arithmetic calculation means (100) for a proper photometric level based on the light quantity of the preliminary light emission and a distance to the subject detected by the distance detection means, a discrimination means (100) discriminating the photometric area having a photometric value nearest to the proper photometric level out of the photometric values of the respective photometric areas obtained by performing the preliminary light emission, and a control means (100) controlling the emitted light quantity of the stroboscopic device based on the photometric value of the photometric area discriminated by the discrimination means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
