PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out operation so as to prevent dew formation of sucked gas in an evaporator, to enhance efficiency, and to enhance reliability. SOLUTION: The air conditioner is provided with a compressor 1, a condenser 2, a pressure reducing device 3, the evaporator 4, a refrigerant piping connecting these to circulate a refrigerant, a fan 22 sending gas to the evaporator 4, and an overheating gasification means 5 for sending the refrigerant flowing out from the evaporator 4 as overheated gas into the compressor 1. It has an operation mode for setting a pressure reduction amount of the pressure reducing device 3, an air capacity of the fan 22, or a frequency of the compressor 1 such that blowing out is carried out so that a surface temperature of the refrigerant piping in the evaporator is a dew point temperature or more of the gas sucked into the evaporator 4 to prevent dew formation, and a refrigerant state of an evaporator 4 outlet is a humid state or a state near saturated gas. The refrigerant is sent into a suction side of the compressor 1 in an overheated gas state by the overheating gasification means 5 to prevent a liquid back flow to the compressor 1.
