PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound yarn having excellent elasticity and exhibiting the performance even in the case of 100% cotton yarn, a compound yarn suitable for a cloth such as knit fabric and woven fabric having good stretchability, soft touch and excellent shape stability and a compound yarn free from dyeing speck while keeping the properties of a hard-twist spun yarn. SOLUTION: The core-sheath compound yarn contains a hard-twist spun yarn having a twist coefficient of≥5 as the core yarn.
