PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficienty design a lighting fixture. SOLUTION: A design support system for supporting the design of a lighting fixture comprising a light source and a light transmitting member formed of a colored transparent material and transmitting light from the light source comprises a transmittance storage part for storing the wavelength dependence of transmittance of light onto a test piece formed of the same material as the light transmitting member and provided with a unit thickness, an input part for inputting form data indicating a form of the light transmitting member, a thickness calculation part for calculating a thickness of each part of the light transmitting member in the transmission direction of light from the light source, according to the form data, and a chromaticity calculation part for calculating the chromaticity of light transmitted through each part of the light transmitting member out of light from the light source, according to the spectral distribution of light generated by the light source, the thickness calculated by the thickness calculation part, and the transmittance of the test piece stored in the transmittance storage part.
