PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output device which generates an arbitrary folder to classify image data when writing image data stored in a recording medium to a recording medium like a CD-R and changes a file name to file names having serial numbers added thereto to write image data to the recording medium in the case of the existence of image data having the same file name. SOLUTION: When image data acquired from an input medium 122 is written to an output medium 123, designated image data is written in a folder generated by a user or a folder automatically generated for each day by an image output device 10. In the case that image data to be written to the output medium 123 has the same file name, the file names is changed to file names obtained by adding serial numbers to the original file name, to write image data.
