PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying device capable of improving chopper folding accuracy and preventing bruise, by effectively adjusting bending during carrying a sheet-shaped article. SOLUTION: The carrying device comprises a plurality of upper carrying belts 3, 4, 5 arranged along the width direction of a section 2 for carrying the section 2 and a lower carrying belt 6; and a chopper device 1 chopper folding the section 2 carried by the carrying belts. The plurality of carrying belts are composed of carrying belts 6a to 6c for carrying a left half of the section 2, and carrying belts 6d to 6f for carrying a right half. A driving motor 15 with reference rotational frequency encoder 15a for driving the left half carrying belts, and a servo motor 17 driving the right half belts are provided. Optical sensors 8, 9 for detecting bending of the carried section 2, and a controlling device 20 for changing the speed of the right half carrying belt in regard to the left half carrying belt by detection output of the optical sensors.
