PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for replacing a gas in the head space of a paper composite container for a liquid used for a japanese sake container, a milk container or the like, for replacing air in the head space of the container filled with a content with a replacing gas such as nitrogen gas and carbon dioxide gas so as to decrease to the utmost the oxygen concentration in the head space of the container after the content is filled and hermetically sealed. SOLUTION: The method for replacing the gas in the head space of the paper composite container by blowing the replacing gas into the container comprises the first gas replacing process just before the contents are filled after the bottom part of the paper composite container for the liquid is formed and sealed, and the second gas replacing process just before the top part of the container is formed and sealed after the content is filled.
