PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side structure assembly method simply obtaining sufficient bonding strength and rigidity of an upper frame, easily controlling welding quality, and applying an inexpensive welding method thereto. SOLUTION: When assembling a side structure forming a side wall of a body, a rear end part of an upper frame outer 2a out of upper frames 2 having a closed sectional structure formed of the upper frame outer 2a and an upper frame inner 2b firstly, is welded by the spot welding S vertically across a front pillar reinforcement upper 1a and a front pillar reinforcement lower 1b to obtain a front pillar reinforcement assembly when a front pillar reinforcement 1 is assembled.
